Precision Underground Solutions
Entelar Group is a leader in civil infrastructure, specialising in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), rock sawing and underground solutions across New Zealand. Our expertise spans water renewals, fibre deployment, fibre design and broader civil works, ensuring future-ready connectivity with precision, sustainability and minimal disruption.

The right methodology for every project
Every project is different. That’s why we have the skills and resources to covers a range of construction and installation methods. These include:
Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)
Horizontal Directional Drilling is our primary method for installing underground infrastructure. It is a trenchless, efficient and cost-effective solution that ensures fibre networks are deployed faster and safer, with minimal surface impact. It is ideal for urban areas, road, rail and waterway crossings and environmentally sensitive zones.
Rock Sawing
If ground conditions make Horizontal Directional Drilling impractical (such as hard rock environments), we will cut precise slots into road or rock surfaces to lay ducting and cabling.
Open Trenching
This traditional civil works method is used where open excavation is the most practical and cost-effective approach.

Why Entelar
Benefits at a Glance
Minimal Surface Disruption
With Horizontal Directional Drilling, road closures, business downtime and environmental damage are significantly reduced, because there’s no need for extensive excavations.
Precise and Accurate
Our Horizontal Drilling Technology ensures exact placement of fibre conduits, following a pre-determined bore path beneath obstacles such as roads, rivers, railways and existing infrastructure.
Faster Deployment
Horizontal Directional Drilling enables quicker installation, reducing labour and restoration costs while meeting tight project timelines.
Future-Proofing Networks
Our civil infrastructure solutions support high-speed fibre demands, ensuring New Zealand’s networks are built for the future.
Environmental and Safety Compliant
With Horizontal Directional Drilling, we significantly reduce the impact on the surrounding environment. Everything we do across all our Civil Works adheres to local compliance and safety regulations.
Consents and Resource Management
- Traffic Management Plans
- Council and Local Authority approvals
- NZTA Corridor access requests
- KiwiRail crossing consents
- Archaeological and heritage site assessments
- Iwi and community engagements
Managing Risk Mitigation
Our mature risk mitigation procedures are built from years of field experience. Our teams use the latest locating equipment, follow robust pre-dig processes and draw on deep institutional knowledge of New Zealand’s underground environment.
Skilled staff backed by the latest technology, nationwide
With over 450 locally based staff and 120 service touchpoints nationwide, our reach and technical depth make us the trusted partner for powering New Zealand’s digital future.
We invest heavily in our own fleet of Horizontal Directional Drilling machines, locators and civil equipment.
Purpose-built software provides teams with as-built data, report progress and manage issues through a single integrated platform.
